Eric Schmidt, MSSW, LCSW, MBA is the CEO of New Roads Behavioral Health, a successful behavioral health care organization. He has worked in the behavioral health and substance abuse field for the past 31 years, performing in key executive-level positions since in the mid-1990s. He has been CEO since 2006. Eric founded New Roads Behavioral Health, which primarily and uniquely serves clients with severe persistent mental illness, addiction, and personality disorders. He is the founder and past President of the Utah Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. He also assists as a member of several national organizations for behavioral health, tirelessly advocating for clients on both the national and state levels.

This course, which is the most advanced of the three-part series, is designed to introduce participants to structuring Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). It introduces participants to in-session strategies to solve problems and create solutions to better move towards their life worth living. Participants learn to utilize worksheets, handouts, diary cards, etc. in individual sessions.  The workshop seeks to provide an immersive and ‘hands-on’ experience. To this end, participants will observe role-plays/demonstrations and engaging in ‘hands-on’ practice.  Throughout the course, the emphasis is placed on the importance of comprehensive, culturally-sensitive, individualized assessment, and intervention.


Accreditation Statement

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and New Roads Behavioral Health (NRBH).  Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Amedco is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Amedco maintains responsibility for this course. Social Workers completing this course receive 11.75 GENERAL continuing education credits.
